For Mi Piaci we wanted a lighting design that occupied a happy middle ground between slick and coarse—polished enough for presentation, but edgy enough to stand out. The fixture is centered around an illuminated opal sphere that is tucked away inside a spun aluminum dome (similar to the Cupola). At this point, clear Acrylic bands are bolted together and fixed to a frame that surrounds the dome, for a multi-layered effect. The translucent effect makes it an airy yet thoroughly modernist fit for homes, offices or commercial spaces. Mi Piaci can also be custom-sized to individual room requirements.
