Inspired by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry’s modern design of the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao is an architectural lighting chandelier which uses the randomness of its curves to capture and bend the light. Like the design of the infamous museum, Bilbao challenges convention and is an out-there example of Deconstructivism. By using a singular sheet of aluminium that is rolled in curves, this unique shape hangs from a ceiling plate and is lit by LED marbles strung at varying lengths throughout the showpiece. Light plays along the satin and gloss surfaces which can appear cloaked from a distance. A focal point to large-scale rooms, Bilbao casts graduated light across floors and ceilings and would be a fantastic piece to spark wonder and conversation with guests in casinos and hotels.
