Our take on Stanley Kubrik’s Monolith, Babel is an exotic example of contemporary floor lighting. Made from a mixture of transparent acrylic and aluminium hexagonal panels, each panel interlocks to form a pillar-like structure which spirals up from the ground towards the ceiling. The hexagonal pattern is also inspired by the scales of a lizard or snake sunning on a large rock in the Australian outback. Warm light gleams through the pillar from LED bi-pins and reflects off the gold hexagons throughout the room.
