A variation of Afloat that has gone omega, Afloat EXT fuses new ideas in lighting design with the fictional concept of floating cities. Mirror finish ACM or anodized aluminum is constructed in multilevel tower shapes to connect like a maze and form infinite openings, closings and causeways for the eye to journey through. Drawing on Hayao Miyazaki’s interpretation of floating cities in Jonathan Swift’s Laputa – Castle In The Sky, this light emanates with a brilliance from the core onto its reflective gold aluminum surfaces to douse the walls in square-style holograms. Much like the futuristic technology that features in stories of floating cities, Afloat EXT is a design that can be customized in size to suit your intended interior – grand or intimate.
