San Mateo Medical Center – Link Building
Project Details The San Mateo Medical Center, located in Silicon Valley, is a LEED Silver project that is dedicated to advancing equity and sustainability through design principles like solar, materiality and advanced ADA efforts. We collaborated with San Francisco-based Taylor Design to create an inspiring installation in the lobby of the Link Building and provide patients a sense of ease. The concept nods to an abstract flock of birds and the collective notion of safety, efficiency, and shared values. We collaborated with San Francisco-based Taylor Design to create an inspiring installation in the lobby of the Link Building and provide patients a sense of ease. The concept nods to an abstract flock of birds and the collective notion of safety, efficiency, and shared values.
The sculptural, abstract elements are built with a radiant finish that appears iridescent and renders multiple colors based on natural light patterns. Hues of blue, teals, yellows, oranges and greens emerge – which also happen to be San Mateo County Health’s branded colors.
