If you‘ve ever been lucky enough to see a fish ball underwater, or seen one on TV, then you may have noticed intermittent silver flashes as some fish turn on their side and reflect the sunlight. We have tried to replicate this effect using bright polished stainless steel fish in a bed of clear Acrylic. It’s an exquisite pattern also reminiscent of watching silvery cloud formations float around the earth’s surface, or perhaps an abstract painting with an underwater theme. The custom light shown here is illuminated by an external LED downlight, which reflects off the steel like the sun off the fish, creating the soothing aesthetic.
