ygd_the parlour toronto_custom piano_004Built in 1894 in a former Mason & Rich piano factory, The newest location of The Parlour in Toronto kept the original foundation and exposed brick to elicit a rustic, lofty feel. In an ode to the space’s history, the designer sought out Yellow Goat Design to deconstruct a Mason & Risch piano and transform it into a one of a kind chandelier. Located in the main lounge, the piece is lit from the inside and the keys are in mid-explosion. Overemphasized for effect, the piece adds drama to the space and seems a literal interpretation of the type of piano music you might hear in an upbeat bar and restaurant space.
